The live band that never was...
Neil first met Karl Perkins in 1998 and soon after agreed to join the Huddersfield band "Moving Rivers". They had previously completed a studio demo which comprised two songs: "Precious" and "The Blues" - with lead vocal duties taken up by Karl.
Over the subsequent two years Neil and Karl wrote and recorded various songs using the Blue Room recording studio and Karl's personal facility in Huddersfield. The result was a seven track demo entitled "Down to Hope" - to be used with the intention of securing bookings for live shows. The problem was getting a drummer to commit to the project and for this reason Moving Rivers never managed to perform live. It is also the reason that various local drummers feature on different songs. Nearly twenty years later, Neil began a remastering project with a view to bringing the recorded material up to a commercial standard. "Down to Hope - Remastered" now stands as a testament to the live band that 'nearly' could've been.... well, who knows!
